some more degoogle
it’s been a while, what have i done
for a while i’ve had my photos disconnected from the big G, and used nextcloud’s instant upload..
after switching to proton mail, i have been pulling information from my google calendar into nextcloud.. it has really taken on a life as a central repository
my contacts sync via card-dav to nextcloud
the only things i have left are youtube.. that’s hard to break away from.. but i use newpipe to view without ads, youtube-dl to snatch files
peer tube wil be a good alternative one day, but needs to hit critical mass. i might use it to publish my stuff, if i ever make videos.. especially since you can seed by torrent.
maps: damn near impossible to get rid of
on the android front
a good chunk of your default phone apps can be replaced by ones that are non-invasive
be sure to get them from F-Droid, they do the build on their end.. is that useful? maybe.. you can be sure that the source available version is the published version.
so, yeah
